In Sri Lanka, access to quality healthcare is a privilege that many simply cannot afford. With limited medical infrastructure and resources, coupled with challenging environmental conditions, approximately 45% of families in the country struggle to access even the most basic medical care. This leaves them vulnerable to a myriad of health issues, including life-threatening conditions like cancer, kidney failure, and eye diseases.
In Sri Lanka, the journey from poverty to prosperity often hinges on access to quality education and vocational training. However, for many children from poor to middle-class backgrounds, this path is fraught with obstacles. As the world advances with technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), children in rural areas often lack exposure to basic computing skills and the internet, putting them at a significant disadvantage in an increasingly digital world.

“I am profoundly thankful for the unwavering dedication of MCMD (My Community My Duty) in organizing food drives for remote villages in Matale, Sri Lanka in 2023. The distribution of 1500 food packages has been a lifeline for many families, especially the elderly who often struggle to access essential food items.
